MARRIED PEOPLE

MarriedPeople is more than a curriculum or program.  MarriedPeople is a strategy for FUMC to introduce couples to the Core 4 Habits of a Great Marriage.


SO, WHAT ARE THE CORE 4 HABITS?
God’s way for marriage might not be easy to live out, but it is certainly easy to understand. God gives us only a few verses on how husbands and wives should love each other. We believe He did that on purpose. From the precious few scripture verses on marriage come the Core 4 Habits:

  • Have Serious Fun

Having fun as a couple is not optional; it’s essential. We believe the best way to protect your marriage is to enjoy it regularly.

  • Respect and Love

Of the few verses God gives to husbands and wives, the directive to respect and love is commanded more than any other. This truth really can set us free when we understand the interplay of respect and love.

  • Love God First

When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, His answer was to love God with all you are and to love others as well as you love yourself. Loving God in your individual life greatly impacts your married life.

  • Practice Your Promise

Our spouses trusted that we would do what we promised when we said “I do”—to love each other and to stay together no matter what. Knowing and experiencing a lasting commitment is vital to every marriage.

MARRIED PEOPLE NIGHTOUT are events that take place at First United Methodist Church Brandon.  The events are approximately 1-2 hours and focus on what we call the CORE 4 - Habits of a Healthy Marriage.  Quartely we will focus on one of the CORE 4 and have a night in filled with fun, games, videos and other media that will help YOU develop or explore that habit and how it looks in YOUR marriage.  Check back often for information on the next MARRIED PEOPLE NIGHTOUT - you won't want to miss it!

MarriedPeople Help Club is a monthly, mush-free email full of ideas and insights that sparks great conversations and helps you laugh. You will be encouraged, we promise. So, with no sarcasm, and just the right amount of enthusiasm—Welcome to the MarriedPeople Help Club.

PARENT'S NIGHT OUT...Kids Night In is aa offering for the entire family!  We will provide parents with over four - yes, 4 1/2 - hours of childcare so you can reconnect with one another, have a grils or guys night out or just breath and have the evening to yourself.  The kids will enjoy a night in with our Family Ministry Team which is made up of Childcare Staff and volunteers from the Fusion Student Ministry.

 

While you are out your kids will have dinner, play games, watch a movie..have a GREAT time!

cost:  $10.00 per child or

        $25.00 per immediate family of 3 or more
